Call for fair laws for on-farm workers’ rentals
We co-wrote a letter to the Department of Justice to raise concerns about the proposed amendments to the Residential Tenancy Regulations 2015.
The proposed changes would mean that on-farm workers who receive accommodation as part of their employment could be evicted with no notice if their employment ended.
Many of the workers affected are international, seasonal workers on low wages, who will be unable to fall back on family or their local community.
